Course Overview

Students in the 5th grade discuss key events, societies, and people who helped form the ancient and medieval worlds. They analyze many sources, timelines, and patterns of cause and effect relating to the events. Students are taught to ask questions and analyze events from history. They examine the histories of ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, and the Islamic Golden Age. They study how old societies affected the developments we see today. Pupils are taught to look at how history changes and to examine historical ideas using different skills.
