Course Overview

In Grade 12, students continue to study One Home Language and One Additional Language, both essential for refining communication skills and cultural understanding. The Home Language builds on the foundation established in Grade 11, focusing on advanced language proficiency, critical analysis, and deeper interpretation of literary and non-literary texts. Students engage with complex works of fiction, drama, and poetry, developing their ability to analyze themes, characters, and social contexts. Writing skills are further honed through research papers, essays, and argumentative writing, while oral communication is emphasized in presentations and discussions.

The Additional Language provides an opportunity for students to develop fluency in a second or foreign language, improving reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. This course not only enhances linguistic abilities but also promotes greater cultural awareness and global understanding.
