Course Overview

In the Grade 12 Cambridge Philosophy course, students are prompted to carefully examine the most important questions about existence, knowledge, ethics, and logic. Students read both old and new philosophical writings and learn how to analyze and judge complicated arguments. Epistemology, metaphysics, political philosophy, and moral theory are the main topics discussed in philosophy. The course encourages students to think on their own, analyze problems, and communicate well. Students explore a variety of opinions, which helps them become more open-minded and thoughtful when studying philosophy. Debates, essays, and discussions are a key part of what students learn.
